Adventure Island — 800-4-Adventure. Water park in Tampa, Florida.

Busch Gardens — 800-4-Adventure. Has theme parks in several parts of the country, including Tampa, Florida (800-372-1797, 4.2 million visitors per year) and Williamsburg, Virginia.

Coney Island — The grand-daddy of American amusement parks.

Cypress Gardens — Winter Haven FL; 941-324-2111.

Walt Disney World — Features Epcot Center (10.6 million visitors per year), Magic Kingdom Park (15.6 million visitors per year), MGM Studios (9.5 million visitors per year), and Animal Kingdom (6.0 million visitors per year) theme parks as well as Blizzard Beach, River Country, and Typhoon Lagoon water parks.

MGM Grand Hotel and Casino — 800-929-1112. While not exactly a theme park, this Las Vegas hotel has all the makings of one.

Nickelodeon Studios — Tour the studios located at Universal Studios.

San Diego Wild Animal Park — 800-628-3066. Also features Heart of Africa where you can go on a walking safari close to many wild animals.

Seaworld — 800-4-Adventure. Marine adventures in Orlando, Florida (800-327-2424, 4.9 million visitors per year); San Antonio, Texas; San Diego, California (3.7 million visitors per year), and Cleveland, Ohio.

Sesame Place — 800-4-Adventure. Built around the Sesame Street theme in Langhorne, Pennsylvania.

Shell World — 888-974-3557. Check out their Seashell Museum.

Silver Springs — 800-234-7458. Cruise the Silver River on world-famous glass-bottom boats.

Six Flags — 800-385-FUN6. Theme parks in various parts of the country, featuring some of the tallest and wildest roller coasters in the world. Parks in Six Flags Over Georgia; Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California; and Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey, among others.

Splendid China — 800-244-6226. This Chinese-themed attraction features more than 60 detailed replicas of famous Chinese landmarks. Also the Mysterious Kingdom of the Orient show and more.

Universal Studios — Movie studios and theme parks in Los Angeles, California (5.1 million visitors per year; 818-622-3801), and Orlando, Florida (8.9 million visitors per year; 407-363-8000).
