Calendar and Celebration LinksThere are many online sites with some sort of minimal calendar. Below I've listed the ones I found the most useful. On other pages, I've also listed Trade Show and Festival Sites as well as Party, Fun and Free Sites. Enjoy!
Almanac — The web site of the Old Farmer's Almanac. American Memory (Library of Congress) Page Ari Kukkonen's Today Page — A personal site with a great listing of today's historic events. Aviation History — Lots of old photos and stories about old airplanes and jet fighters. Baseball Almanac — Features 1,000 pages of baseball trivia, facts, humor, and stories. Birthday Poems — An e-greeting site. Book of the Month Club Literary Calendar Calendar of African American History CalendarLand — Lots of links for celestial, religious, and interactive calendars. Calendric — Offers free online calendars. Captain Jack's Celebrity Birthdays Ce Jour — A today site with an entertainment emphasis. Celebhoo.com — A search engine only for celebrities, it filters out the irrelevant. Celebrate Simply — Features a guide to simpler and more meaningful holidays and special occasions. The Celebration Almanac — Calendar and newsletter. CityEvents — Features community events calendars for selected cities. Daily Almanacs by Michael J Maggio The Daily Globe — A great site of special days, weeks, and months. But not updated. Dareware's This Week in U.S. History Days of Our Lives (TV Show) Birthdays Disney's History — Covers Walt Disney Productions, Disneyland, and more. Dumb Laws — Features some of the most senseless and stupid laws ever enacted in the United States. A good place to visit when you're made at some government bureaucrat or political potentate. Earth Calendar — Holidays from various religions and countries around the world. Not very comprehensive. Eccentric America — A thousand entries! Ecclesiastical Calendar — Calculates Western and Orthodox religious holidays for any year. Edward Morykwas's Famous Birthdays ePrintable Calendars — A simple website that allows you to view and print calendars by month or years, with major holidays selected or unselected. Event411.com — 800-PLAN-ON-IT. If you are planning a business or social event or meeting, this site can help manage the details. Everything Holidays — Features recipes, traditions, and crafts for all major holidays. Famous Birthdays — Good resource for birthdays of celebrities. 50 States — Details on each state. Fun of Flying Site — This site features events that celebrate the successes and highlights of the world of aviation. The Grandparents Day — Information on Grandparents Day history, activities, poems, gifts, and crafts. Greatest Pictures — Features thousands of famous and historic photos, including U.S. presidents, early flight, the first 50 years of Miss America, sports, disasters, and more. Havienu L'Shalom Hebrew Calendar Historical Weather Facts for the United States History Channel: Today in History History Channel: America's 20th Century Timeline — Provides year-by-year highlights of the 20th century. History Net's Today in History HyperHistory — This site features color-coded timelines that allow you to see related political, scientific, and cultural events for each year. IBirthday.com — All the birthday gifts you'd ever want to give. Interfaith Calendar — A great listing of feast days and holy days for all sorts of religions. Not always accurate, but mostly so. Does not include African religions, but does cover many Asian religions as well as Islam, Judaism, and Christianity. Jest-a-Day Journal — Wonderful daily joke and fun newsletter, including this day in history. John Turner's Today in History Leon's Almanac of Political History Literary Calendar — A great reference portal for literary history. Millennium Minutes — Have you ever imagined owning a moment in time? It may be a birth, a marriage, a first step, even that amazing hole-in-one, but whatever the moment, and whatever the occasion, Millennium Minutes can help. The Mother of All Today In History Sites National Geographic Adventure 365 Calendar — Features championship ice golf in Greenland to dye-flinging celebrations in India. Parades Online — This site features a free copy of the ebook, Everyone Loves a Parade, as well as a listing of parades around the country, searchable by state and date. Rainbow Garden Today in History — A great personal site with something for almost every date of every year. Scope Systems Historic Events & Birth Dates — One of my favorite event sites. Very useful. Searchable. This Day in Rock & Roll History Those Were the Days — Another of my favorite sites, with links to related images. Tim Hamilton's Australia On This Day Today's Calendar and Clock Page -- Provides great links to many, many calendar sites.
